ASUU held a Congress Meeting

All branches of ASUU held a congresses meeting on 25th August, across the country over the ongoing strike.

and the importance of this meeting is for the lecturers to consider the latest offer(s) by the federal government aimed at resolving the imbroglio.

it was gathered that the meeting will discuss whether or not to accept the federal government’s offer.

it was confirmed that all the branches are expected to submit their respective reports to the national body who will take a final decision.

The Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, has denied reports that officers of the Force had killed some members of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), during their protests across parts of the country. Recall that following the arrest and continued detention of Director of Radio Biafra and Leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, by Nigeria’s secret Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), his supporters had organised massive protests across parts of Delta, Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Bayelsa and Rivers States, calling for his immediate release.
