RSU (UST) ADMISSION 2017/2018


ADMISSION 2017/2018 ACADEMIC SESSION PRE-DEGREE PROGRAMME RIVERS STATE UNIVERSITY, PORT HARCOURT  popular know as: UST.

The institutions hereby  invite  all suitably  qualified  candidates  for  admission  into  the
Pre-degree Programmes of  the College  of Basic Medical Sciences, Faculties of Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Science, Agriculture and Technical and Science Education for the 2017/2018 academic session.

DURATION OF PROGRAMME AND MODE OF STUDY
The  programme  is  for  duration  of  two  semesters  (one  academic  session).  Mode  of  study  is  face  to  face  at  the  Rivers  State  University, Port Harcourt.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants  for  admission  into  the Pre-degree Programme are  expected  to  have  a  minimum  of  five ‘O’ Level Credits at one or two sittings including English Language; credits in Mathematics and three other
relevant Science subjects in the SSCE/GCE organized by WAEC andNECO.
Applicants for Basic Medicine are expected to have the required five ‘O’ Level Credits at one sitting.
Candidates  MUST  write  the  2017/2018 JAMB/UTME with relevant subject combination to any programme and MUST obtain the minimum
UTME approved cut-off point.

METHOD OF APPLICATION
Application Forms to be completed online. A candidate who is offered admission will be expected to bring his/her SSCE/GCE certificates/result slips during registration.

Closing date for application is  Friday, 6th October, 2017.

Police never killed any MASSOB, IPOB protester – IGP Arase

The Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, has denied reports that officers of the Force had killed some members of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), during their protests across parts of the country. Recall that following the arrest and continued detention of Director of Radio Biafra and Leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, by Nigeria’s secret Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), his supporters had organised massive protests across parts of Delta, Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Bayelsa and Rivers States, calling for his immediate release.
